Growing up in an environment where anyone can say anything aboutyou anonymously can cause some really stressful situations for ourchildren today. Protecting our children online is just as important askeeping them safe in the outside world.Children can be exposed to so many experiences on the internet, that can affect their livesdramatically. If they are not monitored they could be exposed to cyberbullying, they couldsee sexual or violent images, or have contact with strangers which could put them at risk.Like all protection activities, the sooner we teach children to be safe online the better. Here are some startling statistics* 40% of children chatted to a stranger onlineof these children 53% revealed their phone number15% tried to meet the stranger6% revealed their home address!! *Source: https://iamcybersafe.org/parent-research/ Page 18Cyberbullyingwww.mybodyismybody.comChrissy Sykes

Page 191.Start the conversation with your children about Internet safety. Teachthem that there are websites that have something called “Malware” these siteshave software that damages devices, steals data, and causes chaos. Children need to stay on safe sites that you have approved. It is important thatwe show children we are not trying to stop them from having fun!! - We are justtrying to keep them safe.2. Take a moment to review your computer safety settings.Here’s how to find them:Chrome: Settings > Advanced > Privacy and securityEdge: Settings > Advanced settingsFirefox: Options > Privacy & SecuritySafari: Preferences > PrivacyTo quickly check if a site is legitimate or if a specific URL is safe, you can use awebsite safety checker like Google Safe Browsing.3. It is always a good idea to let your children use their devices incommon areas of the house where you can keep an eye on them. Bed time isfor sleeping and it is always a good idea not to let them take their phone to bed.Find out about the social networking sites your child uses like Snapchat,Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube. If your child is using a new App - try tofind out about it as there are many that do not have safety protocols to protectchildren.Cyberbullyingwww.mybodyismybody.comHere are 11 Top Tips to help protect children online.

Page 20

Here is a website that gives Parents Ultimate Guides to many apps andgames https://www.commonsensemedia.org/parents-ultimate-guides4. We need to remind children that people may not be who they saythey are on the internet, they may lie about their age, their name and evenwhat sex they are. It is important never to give details likeYour full name,YouraddressYou phone numberYour passwordAnd never ever meet up with astranger.5. Do fun things together with your child on the internet. That way youcan browse different sites and they can learn from your example as you couldsay - “Oh that doesn’t look like a safe site” I think we will look for something else.By exploring the internet with your child, you can also find out about whatinterests they have, and what they enjoy watching. You could bookmark someof their favourite sites so that they can find them easily and they are notsearching the internet unnecessarily.Page 20Cyberbullyingwww.mybodyismybody.com

Page 21

6. Help your child set up their internet accounts and show them fun waysof creating safe passwords. Like using their favourite superhero combined withtheir favourite drink or sweets. Something nobody else would know. Also makea note of their passwords so you can keep an eye on their internet activities.7. A good indication that they are being bullied, groomed or that theymay have seen something upsetting, is to watch for any changes in theirbehaviour. They may become secretive, withdrawn, anxious or angry.8. Some sexual predators try to win children over with gifts. These canbe given through games, or maybe even through the post. Keep an eye out ifyour child starts to play on games that have in app purchases that are beingpaid for.9. It is always a good idea to check your child’s browser history andsee the websites they have been visiting. Also check the recycle bin to see ifthey have tried to delete any images.10. Find out how to add filters to your web browser so that inappropriatesites can be blocked.11. If your child is being bullied in any way, take screen shots of anyharmful content. It always helps when you are reporting to show a pattern ofabuse. If it is a class mate, you can report the cyberbullying to the school.If it is onsocial media you can contact the site owners to have the post/ posts removed.If you feel your child is in danger or any illegal behaviour is occurring, pleasereport it to the police immediately.Page 21Cyberbullyingwww.mybodyismybody.com

Philanthropy is not just about giving/spending money but also about pouring out yourself, giving yourtime/talents towards a charitable cause. Also, philanthropy is not about making noise but 'walking the talk' of really helping people break out of thevicious circle of poverty or a dire situation of need. It is about great passion matching unflinchingcommitment; it is going above and beyond the profanity and vanity of gathering filty lucre or credentials.HOPE AMBASSADORS this March visited a rural school in the riverine area of Agboyi Ketu in Lagos, Nigeria. Acommunity rarely visited by many as it is only accessible by canoes paddled by local stalwarts.Very close to the urban life of Lagos yet distanced by nature. Its land is encircled by water dirty, murky, smellywater; the result of years of pollution and sewage dumping. Sometimes, and in this case, proximity does nottranslate to modernity. Comfor-table is not about any table but the state of absolute relaxation, of peace ofmind in life and comfort.HOPE 3FS PALLIATIVES: FOOTWEARS, FACEMASKSAND FOOD PACK

This photograph is of my daughter Evie and mevolunteering with the Jewish Relief Agency inPhiladelphia. Our job was to pack up boxes of foodfor the many members and families that dependedon this food to survive for the week. Many haveclose to nothing and are very poverty-stricken.Some are old and sick. After packing up the boxes with canned goods andother dry foods, we left to head to our deliveryroute. We took the boxes to each address on ourlist. The recipients were always delighted andgrateful to receive their package from us. DuringCOVID, we were masked and careful.Recently, my children asked when we couldvolunteer again because they realize the impactwe had. We are signing up for another deliveryroute next month. JRA is a wonderful organizationand I’m more than happy to volunteer my timewith them.Volunteerism: Its Importance to Our FamilyT H E A M B A S S A D O R | I S S U E 8 | 6 3Volunteerism is extremely important in our family. My children know how important giving is as I’veinstilled this in them since they were very young.Once they were old enough, I began to bring themalong with me. It’s crucial for children tounderstand that the world is not all about themand that they should be extremely grateful eachday for all they have. If they are kept in a bubble, they will never understand this truth.

Jeff Bezos, the CEO ofAmazon, said: "A brand is what others say about you when you aren't in the room.” This quote sums up theimportance of taking your digital imprint very seriously on social platforms, especially LinkedIn. The first impression often affects others, being more comfortable connecting and hopefully doing businesswith YOU. Take this opportunity to make your profile in the customers' minds, and reflects the extent of yourpersonality, not only to let people know more about you, as well as about your professional activity but alsothat they can TRUST YOU! Communication should be customer-centric.1. Profile Optimization 2. Determination of the Ideal ProspectsLinkedIn has extensive filters and features that narrow down those that work best for you, allowing you alwaysto identify people with whom you can connect. The fact is « Who you know » is essential, but just knowing lotsof people won't necessarily get you the results you are expecting on this platform. However, before using thefilters, make sure you are familiar with the type of your ideal prospect and buyer persona. It's essential to know the industry, purpose, and position of those you want to connect with. One of the mostremarkable features of Linkedin is that it is the only social network where you can connect with decision-makers. So the floor is all yours to make customized messages and send personal connection requests tothem. Using the "All filter" option in Sales Navigator and highly exclusive searches is another way to go deeperin your information search on LinkedIn. 3. Follow Up After Connecting to Build a Solid RelationshipHaving an extensive network isn't enough if your contacts forget about you. That's why it's crucial to stay topof mind and build relationships with your network through the platform by making sure you are interactingwith the appropriate person. Building healthy relationships with your audience can increase your chances ofbeing accepted and trusted. At this stage, you can show interest in their specific experience or background orinteract with the content and upcoming events they share.4. Expand Your Network by Joining Similar GroupsNetworking is vital in building relationships that are successful and will benefit you over the long term. Don'tlimit yourself always to your closet circle, but expand your network by interacting with new people and activecommunity members. You can join LinkedIn groups at any time as this will help you connect with people whoshare similar interests. If you haven’t found a group that suits your interests, don’t wait…start your own group. 5. Trust the ProcessThe process of obtaining appropriate perspectives is not linear; it's an evolutive way to learn the methods thatwork and those that don't. However, if you are curious enough and open to new challenges, you will not missany opportunity that comes your way. Instead of waiting for the right time, taking action is the best you can dofor a meaningful engagement on LinkedIn, It makes you more productive and helps you expand yourknowledge and skills. Sales are no longer about selling In the digital economy, it’s about buildingrelationships. Page 83

I warned her not to share too muchI thought she understoodI wanted to protect herAs a mother really should.Such a precious, cheerful daughterWith a zest for love and livingUntil she just stopped speakingIncapable of giving. Her teachers voiced their real concernsHer grades were sliding down. They asked if there were problemsAs she always wore a frown.I tried so hard to help herDearly wanting to be thereHer life was downward spiralling‘though she hardly seemed to care. And then one day we found our girlBeside herself in fearCowering coldly in a cornerMany tablets scattered near.‘Twas then the truth came to the foreOur daughter had been groomedTo do whate’er HE wantedAnd thus, her future doomed. Explicit photo evidenceWith sexually loaded textsHe threatened her exposureEach day dreading what was next. Those following months were terribleAnd still, she bares the painHumiliated teenage yearsAll struggling with the strainBut we have been the lucky onesOur daughter will be healedWhilst others far less fortunateNeed this curse to be revealed. So join us in our fight againstThe cyber bullying trendNot all survive to tell the talePlease help us make it end.
